π° India’s Coffee Exports Surge Over 26% in Early 2026, Cross $936 Million
India’s coffee exports registered strong growth during the January–April 2026 period, highlighting the country’s rising presence in global agricultural trade. Backed by strong international demand for robusta and instant coffee, export volumes and values both recorded significant increases compared to the same period last year. βπ
India’s coffee export growth has been largely fueled by rising international demand for robusta coffee, widely used in instant coffee blends and commercial brewing. Instant coffee exports also recorded strong momentum, reflecting India’s growing capabilities in value-added coffee products.
At the same time, the Coffee Board of India has projected a record production of 4,03,000 tonnes for the 2025–26 crop year, led by major producing states such as Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu.
Indian coffee continues to strengthen its footprint in Europe and West Asia. Key importing countries include:
Italy remains India’s largest coffee buyer, reflecting the growing global acceptance of Indian coffee varieties.
Despite the strong export performance, the sector still faces challenges from weather-related uncertainties and geopolitical tensions affecting shipping routes, particularly in West Asia. Exporters are also closely monitoring global price fluctuations and supply chain disruptions.
Overall, India’s coffee industry continues to gain momentum globally, supported by higher-value products, expanding international demand, and rising production capacity. βπ
