India’s coffee exports rose 13.35% to 1.25 lakh tonnes during January–March.
India’s coffee shipments surged 13.35% to 1,25,631 tonnes in January–March 2024, driven by strong demand for Robusta coffee. Arabica and Robusta are the two coffee varieties grown in India, with Arabica known for its smoother taste and Robusta being more bitter.
Exports of Robusta beans increased by 18%, while Arabica exports declined. Instant coffee exports and re-exports also recorded growth.
The total value of coffee exports during this period stood at ₹3,644 crore. Major export destinations included Italy, Russia, the UAE, Germany, and Turkey.
